I never set out to be CTO—I initially joined to help Michail with calculations. But as the company’s needs grew and evolved, so did my role, in a direction that fits me perfectly. That flexibility is a core part of what NITIU is all about.
How does NITIU approach innovation?
For me, innovation isn’t just about grand ideas; it’s often found in the small details, such as producing the strongest weld. As we are often working on untested solutions, where no one has been before, we're cultivating an environment that encourages experimentation. The nature of an experiment is that the outcome is unknown, failure is part of the process. If we succeed on the first try, we ask ourselves, “Why was that so easy?” So, instead of spending months refining a design, we’ll test, fail, refine, test, fail, refine, until we finally succeed, knowing that we truly understand the fundamentals of the problem. NITIU isn’t the right place for anyone seeking quick fixes.
Our customers appreciate this incremental approach because it’s efficient and resourceful— and it has many times proven to be the fastest way to make the journey from A to B. I believe this way of working is one of our biggest strengths.
What kind of people are you looking for?
We’re looking for candidates who are willing to explore new areas. Our design/ engineering candidate needs to be able to break down problems methodically and understand them at a granular level while keeping an eye on the bigger picture. It will be required to zoom in and out, turning problems around and looking at them from all angles.
The process engineer needs to be curious and detail-oriented, and over time, willing to become a technical expert who understands the bigger picture and isn’t discouraged by dead ends. We’re looking for a holistic, creative engineer.
What advice would you give to someone considering applying for one of the open positions?
This isn’t a typical job. In a small company like ours, everything you do will have a real impact—you’ll be truly important. That can feel a bit overwhelming at first, and it might not be for everyone. But if you want to join a curious, determined, and dedicated team that never gives up, you won’t regret applying!

Life at NITIU
NITIU is growing, expanding from seven to nine team members. To provide context to the two open positions, we spoke with our CTO, Joseph Hainsworth, who shares his thoughts on what it’s really like to work here.
What brought you to NITIU?
I’m passionate about technology for a start. I was fortunate to early in my career be exposed to an engineering environment. At that workplace I realized that I wanted to pursue engineering, and that I wanted to find a product that I was truly passionate about.
After exploring the automotive industry and landing a job at a dream company, I thought I had it all. But slowly I started to realize that the product and technology that once fascinated me only effected a small portion of the world’s richest elite. And I began to wonder, “Is this really what I’m working so hard for? That’s when it clicked: If I’m going to dedicate this much time, heart, and effort, I want it to matter. And that’s what brought me here.
